The North Carolina Forestry Association is hosting its annual Forestry and Environmental Camp in Troutman, North Carolina on Tuesday, November 6 thru Friday November 9, from 8:30 am-1:30 pm. This is a rescheduled program due to Hurricane Florence. We are in need of forestry and natural resource professionals to volunteer to lead our rotational activities and lesson plans to the sixth grade students at a local elementary school. Activities are focused on forestry and environmental education; which cover topics on wildlife, dendrology, forest products, compass work and maps, and tree measurement. NCFA will provide the lesson plans and materials, we just need you! Camp materials can be viewed on our Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/17MORSu0GWTi1879BznYunQ5X2NQ0po21?ogsrc=32
If you or your colleagues are available to help lead lesson plans for these students, please sign up using our signup genius site:https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080b4fa9a62aa4fc1-forestry or by contacting me directly. Please note that you do not need to be a member of NCFA or be a registered forester to volunteer for our program. Volunteers simply must have a natural resource related career, and want to showcase your good work to a younger generation.
